How to live stream a DJI Neo
The DJI Neo streams through DJI Fly's RTMP option, like DJI's bigger drones. The catch is the way you fly it: when the phone controls the Neo directly over Wi-Fi, that Wi-Fi is taken by the drone. Fly with the RC-N3 (or goggles cabled to the phone) and the phone is free to send the stream to DJI Live Bridge on your computer, which takes it on to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or several platforms at once.
In short
- The Neo streams from DJI Fly on your phone: GO FLY → ••• → Transmission → Live Streaming Platforms → RTMP.
- Use the RC-N3: the phone is connected to the controller by cable, so its Wi-Fi can join the computer's network.
- In phone-only mode the phone's Wi-Fi is connected to the Neo itself, so it usually cannot reach a computer.
- With goggles, cable them to the phone running DJI Fly and stream from there.
- DJI Live Bridge turns the stream into vertical 1080×1920 for Instagram and TikTok, and reaches Instagram over RTMPS.
Which Neo control mode can stream?
The Neo can be flown three ways, and that decides how the stream leaves the phone. In every case DJI Fly on the phone does the streaming; DJI Live Bridge on the computer receives it.
| How you fly | Streams to a computer? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Phone only (Wi-Fi, short range) | Usually not | The phone's Wi-Fi is connected to the Neo, so it is not on the computer's network. |
| RC-N3 + phone | Yes — recommended | The phone talks to the controller by cable; its Wi-Fi joins the same network as the computer. |
| Goggles + phone on a USB-C cable | Yes | DJI Fly on the phone shows the goggles' live view and can stream it. |
Some Android phones can run their own hotspot while connected to a Wi-Fi network. On a phone that supports both connections at once, connect the computer to that hotspot so it can receive the DJI Fly feed. This route depends on the phone’s Wi-Fi sharing capability.
Set up the Neo live stream with the RC-N3
- Connect the phone to the RC-N3Fly the Neo with the RC-N3 as usual, phone attached by cable, DJI Fly open.
- Join phone and computer to one networkConnect the phone's Wi-Fi and the computer to the same Wi-Fi. In the field, turn on a second phone's hotspot or a travel router and join both to it.
- Open DJI Live BridgeInstall DJI Live Bridge on a Mac or Windows PC. It shows an address like
rtmp://192.168.1.20:1935/drone. - Enter the address in DJI FlyGO FLY → ••• → Transmission → Live Streaming Platforms → RTMP, type the address and start. The preview appears in the app.
- Choose platforms and go liveAdd Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or any RTMP server, keep Vertical 9:16 for Instagram and TikTok, and press START LIVE.

Tips for streaming a Neo
- An Android phone streams at a higher bitrate. DJI lists 5 or 3 Mbps for Android and 2 or 1 Mbps for iOS.
- Keep the phone's Wi-Fi strong. The stream travels from the phone over Wi-Fi to the computer; stay close to the router or hotspot.
- Vertical for social. The Neo films landscape; Whole picture keeps the full frame with a blurred fill, Fill screen crops it.
- Rehearse on the ground. Try with a video file in DJI Live Bridge checks the platform side before the Neo takes off.
When it does not work
- DJI Fly cannot connect: check that the phone's Wi-Fi is on the computer's network, not on the Neo's own Wi-Fi.
- No RTMP option: update DJI Fly and the Neo's firmware; the option depends on the DJI Fly version.
- The picture stutters: the phone is too far from the router, or the network hops between 2.4 and 5 GHz.
- Instagram rejects the stream: create a new live video on instagram.com and update the key; each key works once.
Questions
Can the DJI Neo live stream?
Yes, through RTMP in DJI Fly. For streaming to a computer, fly it with the RC-N3 or with goggles cabled to the phone, so the phone's Wi-Fi is free to join the computer's network.
Can I live stream the Neo when controlling it with just my phone?
In phone-only control mode, the phone’s Wi-Fi is connected to the Neo. A computer can receive the feed through the phone’s hotspot if the Android phone supports Wi-Fi and hotspot sharing at the same time. Availability depends on the phone.
Can the DJI Neo stream to Instagram or TikTok?
Not from DJI Fly directly. Send DJI Fly's RTMP stream to DJI Live Bridge, which forwards it to Instagram over RTMPS and to TikTok in vertical 1080×1920.
Does it work with the Neo 2?
If DJI Fly shows RTMP under Live Streaming Platforms for your drone and controller, it works: DJI Live Bridge only receives the RTMP stream and never talks to the drone.
Try it with your drone
DJI Live Bridge is free and open source, for macOS and Windows. FFmpeg is built in, so there is nothing else to install.
